Helping the Vicitims of the Haiti Earthquake
One of the greatest humanitarian disasters in recent memory is unfolding in Haiti. The country was devastated by a 7.0 earthquake and much of its basic infrastructure that provides basic human needs, including food and water, is unable to function.
Early estimates indicate up to one-third of Haiti's 9 million residents have been impacted in some way. As many as 100,000 people have died. Thousands have been injured and many are living on the streets because there is no safe shelter.
