Education and Literacy Fund

EdLit LogoThe Alliance Education and Literacy Fund was established in 2004 with funding made possible by Lilly Endowment, a long-time advocate for education and community foundations throughout Indiana.  The Fund was renamed the Marilyn J. Klenck Fund for Education and Literacy in November 2010 to honor Mrs. Klenck at her retirement and recognize her years of service and dedication to the Alliance.

The Marilyn J. Klenck Fund for Education and Literacy is designated to support programs and initiatives in the fields of education and literacy. Because this field is quite broad, the Alliance has focused the Fund’s early proceeds on Early Childhood Literacy. The Fund's reach will change and broaden over time.

The Marilyn J. Klenck Fund for Education and Literacy is a regional fund, which means that it aims to reach throughout the nine counties that comprise the Alliance's service area—Daviess, Gibson, Knox, Perry, Pike, Posey, Spencer, Vanderburgh, and Warrick counties.

The 2012 grant cycle will be open January 13, 2012.  Please visit the Education and Literacy Grants Program page for details.
