Benefits to Advisors
Professional advisors deal with a multitude of clients, each with specific charitable and financial goals. The advantages of incorporating the Community Foundation into the estate-planning process include:
The Community Foundation is an extremely flexible charitable planning vehicle. Anything your client would like to accomplish with a charitable intent can be assisted through the Community Foundation.
The Community Foundation offers better tax incentives than private foundations while accomplishing the same goals.
There is no cost for consultation to either you or your client for using the services of the Community Foundation. The Foundation will help regardless of whether there is benefit to the Foundation. As a public charity we are committed to building community capital in any form.
Client and/or professional advisor consultations are kept totally confidential.
You will be kept informed of any authorized communication between your client and the Community Foundation.
All your client's charitable needs can be handled through one vehicle.
The Community Foundation is a referral source. If we don't immediately know the answer to your client's situation, we will research the information or refer you to someone who does.
The Community Foundation will compute the ramifications of a charitable contribution at no cost to you or your client. In general, the computation can be completed within 24 hours. This is particularly helpful in cases of gift annuities or charitable remainder trusts.
Because the Community Foundation is structured to benefit all charitable entities, you will not be placed in the position of favoring one particular charity as you make recommendations to clients. The Foundation is not in competition with other nonprofits.
The Community Foundation can offer your clients anonymity or recognition in perpetuity, with as much or as little involvement in the granting process as they would like.
